This record contains data collected from the near-water surface sampling site off the Lucinda Jetty, as part of the Lucinda Jetty Coastal Observatory. Sample collection began the 9th of January, 2014. The data can be used for Ocean Colour sensor validation. Parameters measured include the absorption coefficients of the particulate and dissolved components of the water column and the phytoplankton pigment concentration and composition.

This record describes PSA (Particle Size Analysis) data collected as part of the 1991-1993 Tasmanian Slope Trophodynamics Study undertaken by CSIRO Division of Fisheries. PSA data were obtained from Niskin bottle samples at a range of depths (surface to 1500 meters) on 4 cruises of FRV "Southern Surveyor" on three 60 km transects across the continental shelf to the south and south-east of Tasmania in July 1991 (cruise SS 02/91), February 1992 (cruise SS 01/92), November 1992 (cruise SS 04/92) and April 1993 (cruise SS 03/93). Analyses were later used to also derive approximate measurements of particulate carbon in the water column.

This dataset contains the processed Hydrology or "Bottle Data" (HYD) data collected on Marelda cruise M 4/62. This voyage took place off the NSW Coast from 24/7/1962 to 10/8/1962. This dataset has been processed and is archived within the CSIRO Marine and Atmospheric Research Data Centre in Hobart.

This dataset contains temperature data from the TOGA/WOCE transect PX2 across the Banda, Java and Flores Seas. Data have been collected since May 1983 and are ongoing. The transect is repeated approximately twice a month. Profiles are obtained approximately every 60km (a 1 degree latitude / 1.5 degree longitude grid). The data are obtained from XBTs (expendable bathythermographs) deployed via the Ship-of-Opportunity Program (SOOP) of the IOC/WMO Integrated Global Ocean Services System (IGOSS), and are now managed by the Joint Australian Facility for Ocean Observing Systems (JAFOOS), a collaborative venture between CSIRO Marine Research and the Bureau of Meteorology Research Centre (BMRC).

This dataset contains the processed Hydrology or "Bottle Data" (HYD) data collected on Marelda cruise MAR 7/64. This voyage took place off the NSW Coast from 5/11/1964 to 14/11/1964. This dataset has been processed and is archived within the CSIRO Marine and Atmospheric Research Data Centre in Hobart.

This record describes Photosynthetically Available Radiation (PAR) data collected as part of the 1991-1993 Tasmanian Slope Trophodynamics Study undertaken by CSIRO Division of Fisheries. PAR data were obtained from an irradiance sensor lowered through the water shortly after completing a CTD cast from which chlorophyll and productivity samples were taken, at a range of depths (surface to 1500 meters) on 4 cruises of FRV "Southern Surveyor" on three 60 km transects across the continental shelf to the south and south-east of Tasmania in July 1991 (cruise SS 02/91), February 1992 (cruise SS 01/92), November 1992 (cruise SS 04/92) and April 1993 (cruise SS 03/93).

This dataset contains temperature data from the TOGA/WOCE transect IX9 across the Indian Ocean, between Fremantle and the Persian Gulf. Data have been collected since November 1985 and are ongoing. The transect is repeated approximately monthly.

NSW Fisheries demersal fish and prawn surveys from 1975 to 2006 using the FRV Kapala (1990-96), FV Trader Horn, FV Shelley H, FV Kirrawa and FV May Bell II. Area of operations is from SW Queensland to Bass Strait. The CMAR Catch Operations data set includes information about the time, location depth and catch method (trawl net etc) for each operation, species code and specimen details. Individual metadata records have been created for each research voyage. The data are held in the CMAR Data Warehouse, which currently holds over 4165 (hauls) catch operation records.

This record describes chlorophyll data collected as part of the 1991-1993 Tasmanian Slope Trophodynamics Study undertaken by CSIRO Division of Fisheries. Chlorophyll data were obtained from analyses of filters from Niskin bottle samples at a range of depths (surface to 1500 meters) on 4 cruises of FRV "Southern Surveyor" on three 60 km transects across the continental shelf to the south and south-east of Tasmania in July 1991 (cruise SS 02/91), February 1992 (cruise SS 01/92), November 1992 (cruise SS 04/92) and April 1993 (cruise SS 03/93). Analyses were carried out using spectrophotometric methods (cruise SS 01/92) and HPLC (3 remaining cruises), and analysed for chlorophylls a, b and c to give estimates of algal biomass in the water.
